CAR KEYS? CHECK. Sun glasses? Check. iPod? Check. Loo roll? Eh…
According to the recent Jervis Shopping Centre survey, toilet roll is a must-have item for men to keep in their car. Almost 45 per cent of men admitted to carrying a toilet roll in the car while only 3 per cent of women listed loo roll as a priority.
For whatever reason men feel they need a spare loo roll handy (maybe it’s best not to ask) they also seem to be the Imelda Marcos of the sexes with a whopping 78 per cent of men admitting to keeping a few pairs of shoes in their boot. While one might think that women like to have a pair of heels for that emergency outfit change it seems only 45 per cent of women said they keep extra shoes in their vehicle.
Jervis Shopping Centre conducted the survey for the launch of a car park competition and it revealed some interesting habits about the male and female driver. Music was something that both sexes agreed was most important to get right for a trip with 89 per cent of girls and 87 per cent of guys saying cool tunes are a must when on the road.
However, men may have some secret items lurking in their glove compartments – some Mariah Carey or Justin Bieber tracks perhaps? Nearly half of men surveyed – 46 per cent of them – said the thing they would be most embarrassed about is someone finding their selection of cringeworthy CDs in their car.
