ACTRESS LINDSAY LOHAN will make her ninth court appearance in ten months today when she faces charges in California over the theft of a $2,500 necklace.

A source close to troubled star said that Lohan will not accept a deal in relation to the charges of felony grand theft, according to the Press Association. She had previously been warned by Judge Keith Schwartz that any plea deal would involve jail time, as Lohan would also be  in violation of probation from her 2007 drunk driving conviction.

The Mean Girls star is accused of stealing the “one of a kind” necklace from Kamofie & Company jewellery store in Venice, California, on January 22.   Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Holley said her client would consider a plea deal, but only if it did not involve jail time.The maximum penalty for felony grand theft is three years imprisonment.

The owner of the jewellery store, Sofia Kaman, said the necklace will be auctioned off for charity, “since at least that way some good can result from this incident.” The auction will have to wait however, as the necklace is currently being held as evidence by prosecutors.
