Controversial

Here is why Katie Hopkins' comments on Ebola have left the internet fuming

She’s at it again.

KATIE HOPKINS HAS been called “repulsive” and “racist” after she made insensitive remarks regarding Scotland’s first confirmed case of Ebola.

Last night, a female nurse who had been treating patients in Sierra Leone was confirmed to have contracted Ebola. She was transferred from Glasgow to Royal Free Hospital in London after her diagnosis.

This morning, Katie Hopkins weighed in on the news, mocking Scotland’s recent bid for independence in the process.

The comments immediately sent social media into a rage spiral.

In particular, many took issue with Hopkins’ repeated use of the term “jock” to describe Scottish people, which some consider to be offensive or even racist.

Even Piers Morgan has criticised Hopkins for her comments.

To which Hopkins retorted…

Of course, this is not the first time the divisive Hopkins has made controversial comments. In the past, she has been accused of fat-shaming and classism.

In November, she was criticised for making comments in which she likened Palestinians to “filthy rodents”.

She will next be seen in Katie Hopkins: My Fat Story, a series documenting her deliberate weight gain and her experience being overweight. It airs on TLC this Friday and Saturday.
