A day in the life of an Irish fruit picker in Oz

It’s far from papaya and mangoes he was raised.

IF YOU HAVE a friend or relation backpacking in Australia chances are you’ve heard about their fruit-picking adventures.

In order to obtain a second year visa to stay in the country, visitors must partake in a period of regional work, usually on a farm, orchard or similar.

Ever wondered what that’s like, picking fruit in the baking heat?

Twenty-eight-year-old Shane O’Mahoney got in touch to say he decided to create a video detailing a day in the life on the farm picking papaya grapefruit and mangoes “so I can share his experiences with friends and family back home”

Good man.
