In Pictures: Rolling Stones celebrate 50 years

Fifty years and 200 million records later, the Rolling Stones mark their golden anniversary.

THE ROLLING STONES have celebrated 50 years of rock n’ roll – marking the anniversary of their first ever gig at The Marquee Club in London in 1962.

And, after selling more than 200 million records worldwide, they have plenty to celebrate.

Here, we take a look at the boys through the years…

    The sign for Jagger Close in Dartford built in 1988. The street is named to commemorate the first meeting of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones on a Dartford to London train in 1960. Jagger was traveling to a lecture at the London School of Economics with a stack of blues records which induced Keith Richards to talk to him.
