We have some of the best snaps from the first day of the 80th annual National Ploughing Championships.

THE NATIONAL PLOUGHING Championships got underway with about 71,000 visitors making the journey to Athy, Co. Kildare.

As the competitions got going, there was also plenty more to see – including one interesting meeting of Presidential hopefuls.
