EASTER BUNNIES ARE happy, fun, and sweet to look at, right?

Turns out that in the case of some of them, they’re creepy, weird, and downright scary.

From strange-eyed bunnies to rabbits that have clearly seen better days, we take a look at some of the strangest bunny monsters to be found online.

If you had nightmares after watching Donnie Darko, be warned… (And hope none of these leave the chocolate eggs at your house early tomorrow):

9 of the weirdest, scariest Easter bunnies we’ve seen
1 / 9
  • Weird bunny

The open mouth, the animé-like eyes, and the bizarre blazer all make this bunny look rather creepy. (Pic Whatsername?/Flickr)
  • Big-eyed bunny

This bunny looks like he thinks the baby is good enough to eat - but luckily the baby doesn't seem to mind. Phew. (Pic: Orin Zebest/Flickr)
  • The Scream

The fact this chocolate bunny is a little blurry only adds to the Munch affect here. Frozen in horror, we can only imagine he knew that his head was about to be bitten off. (Pic: Falashad/Flickr)
  • Scary Scarecrow Bunny

He may live in a suburban shopping mall, but that doesn't make this pink scarecrow-bunny any less terrifying. (Pic: John of Austin on Flickr)
  • Cry baby bunny

This monk-like bunny, with its huge head and strange eyes, was enough to reduce one little girl to tears. Looking at it now, we're feeling a bit terrified ourselves. (Pic: Velvet Tangerine on Flickr)
  • Book-reading bunny

He looks harmless enough, eh? But then you realise he's a bunny reading a book in the park, and you start wondering if you ate too much cheese before bed. (Pic: zappowbang on Flickr)
  • Harmless or armless?

Ah, your friendly neighbourhood limbless bunny. Try as he might, he can't escape life behind that glass window. (Pic: Daniel Oines/Flickr)
  • Questionable bunny

The less said about this bunny, the better. (Pic: Ethan Hickerson/Flickr)
  • Naughty bunny

Thought Easter bunnies were pure and wholesome? Turns out you were wrong. (Pic: Miguel Pimentel/Flickr)

The rabbit on the bench looks suspiciously like the rabbit from Trigger Happy TV.
All in all not a very scary bunch. There were a couple of freaky rabbits at that Ray for 5k in Cavan last Thursday, proper weird.
