Hozier hung out with Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen after Saturday Night Live, no biggy

Everything’s coming up Hozier.

OVER THE WEEKEND, man of the minute Hozier revealed that he partied alongside Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen following his Saturday Night Live performance.

Ah yeah, no biggy.

The Bray native was chatting with Lottie Ryan as part of 2FM’s All Irish Music, All Day when he let slip that Rudd and Rogen were in attendance at the post-show celebrations.

You’re having a few drinks with the cast who are there, so you’re just chatting to them and saying, ‘Thanks very much.’ But because Bill Hader was hosting it, a lot of people who had worked with Bill Hader before and a lot of his friends were at the taping. So people like Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd were there.

Hozier, who described the experience of performing on SNL as “a dream come true”, was also asked about the experience of beating U2 in the charts. (Hozier’s eponoymous album debuted at no. 2 on the Billboard Top 200, while U2′s latest offering charted at no.9)

It’s crazy obviously, but it’s very different in that U2 gave this album to everyone for free. That’s a very big deal and something that would of course affect physical album sales.

Ryan also pried for details of his new celebrity pals and Hozier had some high praise for Adele.

With Adele, we were just having a chat and joking about things. That sounds – you kind of catch yourself saying stuff like that. She is just as cool as can be. She is as cool as you would think she is.

He also described One Republic’s Ryan Tedder as “very, very nice” and “encouraging”.

The Take Me To Church singer also expressed delight at having his song featured in the new Beats by Dre ad, as well as the trailer for Brad Pitt’s latest film Fury.

In other news, it was announced today that Take Me To Church has been nominated for Best Song with a Message at the MTV European Music Awards where he faces stiff competition from Beyoncé, Arcade Fire, Alicia Keys and Meghan Trainor.
