Saw a documentary in that a while ago. Was fascinating.

I dont know the name of the doc but the center is called The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. If you ever are in that part of the world, one hour in the center is just a 4 Euro donation. Its pretty amazing.

I was there one year, we stayed two nights, one night in a wet tent and the second night just lying on the ground… Also if you walked down the town, you would find people advertising service’s outside their gaff’s, like a shower for two pounds, or a brekkie for 3 pounds…me and my mate went into this little terraced two-up two-down that was offering both.. We just went for the brekkie, but there were loads of people coming and going out of this middle-aged woman’s wee house… and she had some fella inside the door collectin the few pound. Mad craic altogether..

The trip to tipp Christ they were the days spliffs and flagons of bulmers rocking out to Brian Adams and the Full Irish for 3 pounds …
