The Guardian accidentally posted a photo of an aid worker's sex toy

It’s a travel essential, apparently.

ESTEEMED UK NEWS outlet The Guardian is running an ongoing series looking at what aid workers keep in their backpacks.

Step forward David Higgins, a worker apparently in Afghanistan. He submitted this photo, which was duly tweeted by the Guardian’s Development Pros account yesterday:

What’s that to the right of the backpack? Yes, it’s a Fleshlight male sex toy. The ‘Butt’ edition, to be precise.

(If you don’t know what you do with it, you can read the NSFW Wikipedia page.)

The tweet linked to a short article about the photo, where Higgins was kind enough to submit a typed list of his travel essentials. He wrote:

We have to travel light here, so no luxuries: first aid kit, water filter, emergency rations, flesh light, sleeping bag, ground sheet, knife and distress beacon.

Nice to see he has his priorities straight, anyway. It’s the second time in a week the Guardian has devoted accidental coverage to matters of self-pleasure.

Both tweet and article have since been deleted. The Guardian sheepishly admitted last night:
