Over 6,000 people have signed up to take part in a giant pillow fight in Phoenix Park

Sure, we’re mad altogether.

NOT SO LONG ago, Dubliners signed up in their droves to participate in a giant game of hide-and-seek in Ikea that never came to pass.

Now thousands of people have signed up to take part in an enormous pillow fight in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.

A Facebook event entitled “Giant Pillow Fight – Dublin” was created yesterday morning. The event is reportedly due to take place on September 26th in Phoenix Park with exact location to be determined.

Just 24 hours later and over 6,000 people have clicked attending on the event.

It’s described as a “flashmob” event and the organisers say that the point is to allow people let off a little steam whilst having “feathery fun”. Those wanting to participate are advised to bring their own pillow.

So, who’s behind the whole thing?

Its host is listed as The Giant Pillow Fight, a group who seem hellbent on bringing pillow fights to every major city in the UK and Ireland.

They also have plans for events in the likes of London, Belfast, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and far.

The details on each event are all pretty vague so far and none appears to have gained as much traction as the Dublin event. We just love our organised fun, it seems.

Although some people are already concerned about the mess.

OH GOD, THE FEATHERS.

Can’t cope.

Of course, whether this event actually takes place or not remains to be seen.

Watch this space, everybody.
