YOU KNOW WHAT they say about never playing with fire?
This is an example of what can do wrong if someone plans a demonstration involving fire – and hasn’t really thought through the consequences.
Firstly, some background: in the US, since Barack Obama declared his support for same-sex marriage, many corporations have taken open stances on whether people of the same gender should be allowed to marry.
While fast food chain Chick-fil-A have openly opposed any plans for same-sex marriage, other companies like Starbucks have supported any such moves – as has the Minneapolis-based food giant, General Mills.
Naturally enough, this has incited the ire of opponents to same-sex marriage – including the fellow in the video above, who ceremonially decided he’d set fire to a bowl of Cheerios, the company’s flagship brand, outside its HQ.
Suffice it to say: it didn’t go all that well.
