SHE’S ALREADY GOT a recording credit to her name, despite only being five weeks old – and if yesterday’s reports are anything to go by, her name has already been trademarked by her protective parents.

Now the Carter Family (that’s Jay-Z and Beyoncé to most of us) have released the first images of their baby daughter, Blue Ivy, born on January 7.

Eschewing the probable riches they could have gotten through selling the snaps to a glossy magazine, however, they’ve taken a far more public-access route: setting up an account on Tumblr to welcome their girl into the world.

A handwritten message at the top of the page, which accompanies five photos of the heavily-coiffured child, reads:

We welcome you to share in our joy.

Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives.

  That weave cost $ thousands and the hair was probably got from some temple in India where a person made a religious sacrifice and had no idea the hair would be collected and sold to rich americans. That’s info according to Chris Rocks’s documentary ‘Good Hair’. Good film.

Except they are not respecting the privacy of their own child, by
Calling the child Blue Ivy (WTF?)
By copyrighting the child’s name
By putting the child’s voice on a record
By releasing photographs of the child for the world to see.

Heard they’re re naming the baby in light of her two parents vast fortunes and the fact the newborn will never have to work in her life…calling her Lay Zee….! Good fortune to the three on them.

So fellow new parents in the same maternity hospital were threatened with lockout if they attempted to leave and return for short periods ( by whose security? Hospital’s, the Z family’s, or the exclusive media agency’s?*) but now here we have the birth of a happy media event!

*Grammar Nazis please spellcheck, but I think I’m ok.

Jeez.. the lot of you are so pathetic. Ever had something so good happen to you you just wanted to tell like everyone? Even complete strangers? Congrats to them. Kid’s beautiful. Who cares, you say? The entire world, that’s who! They’re not fame-whores. These two have worked damn hard to get to where they are. The nasty comments on this story stems from envy. Suppose they don’t call Ireland the Emerald Isle for nothing!

My wife has just had a baby. Does anybody respect the fact that we have decided not to sell the pictures to Hello magazine. This bullshit fascination with celebrity is tremendously irritating. I’ve nothing against these people but why is this news? Would it not be more important to highlight why newborn children are dying daily due to famine and other man made hellish situations in order to try stop these things happening in the future?
