FORGET NEKNOMINATIONS. THE new trend sweeping the internet is teens setting themselves on fire and recording it for YouTube. You know, for the craic.
Fire Challenge is a dare game in which participants pour flammable liquids all over their body and light themselves on fire.
The first fire challenge appeared on YouTube in April 2012 and several copycats have surfaced since then. (Needless to say, it is extremely dangerous, so don’t go trying it at home.)
Now the challenge is reportedly circulating the likes of Facebook, YouTube and Vine.
At least one teen is known to have been seriously injured after participating in the challenge. The unnamed fifteen-year-old from Kentucky was treated for burns after covering his body in alcohol and setting himself alight. When asked what he was thinking, the teenager told WKYT:
“I don’t know, I wasn’t thinking really.”
Oh, teens.
