Are you ready for the first Eurovision semi tomorrow?

Well, are you? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

THE EUROVISION KICKS off tomorrow night in Copenhagen with the first of two semi-finals in advance of the final this Saturday.

The slogan and hashtag this year from the Danes is #JoinUs – and do you know what? We will. We’ll be live-blogging the whole thing.

But first there are a few things we need to go over. Ireland don’t perform until the second semi on Thursday, but Armenia, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Iceland, Albania, Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belgium, Moldova, San Marino, Portugal, the Netherlands, Montenegro and Hungary will be trying their luck.

Here are DailyEdge.ie‘s top picks from the bunch treading the boards tomorrow to get you in the Eurovision state of mind.

Last year’s host

It was lots of fun when Sweden held the Eurovision last year, and this is a good song, but do we really want the Scandinavians taking over the competition like we did in the 90s? They might threaten our Riverdance-bedecked crown.

The bloc voter

Every year, there is criticism or accusations of bloc voting. We can’t imagine, what with the recent tragic conflicts in Crimea, what might go down this year.
