You’ve got to hand it to this lad, he’s got a sence of humour! The country is falling apart at his ankles and he’s busy chasing geese. When countries were in a similar situation, namely Greece and Spain, the people did some some chasing of their own. They took to the streets and showed their incompetent leaders the door. The country, after all, belongs to the people and not to any political party.
Of course, its too cold to do that here. We show our discontent by having a good old moan – women over garden fences and the lads at the dole queue. The sad thing is, that our Taoiseach is mistaking our silence for bearing the burden with dignity.
Dignity goes out the window when you’re standing in a dole queue or at the HSE office for rent suppliment where you face an officer that couldn’t care less if you slept on the streets.
Ah sure, at least we can have a moan – its all we can afford to do – and its all we dare to do !
