Emily Ratajkowski tried to tell a Vogue interviewer to 'shut up' as Gaeilge

Ok now she was close…

MODEL AND ACTRESS Emily Ratajkowski is the latest person to take part in one of those slightly awkward ’73 questions’ videos that Vogue do.

It’s when they visit a celeb’s home and follow them around, asking them a barrage of (definitely pre-prepared) questions to learn a little more about them.

In this installment they visit Ratajkowski (best know for her appearance in the Blurred Lines video) in her spacious loft, and ask her if she can say anything in ‘Gaelic’.

She obliges with a simple “ciúnas”, which they interpret as:

shut

Now, we all know that ‘ciúnas’ means quiet or silence. So, like, they were close enough, but it’s not like she told them to dún suas. She would have needed to bark “CIÚNAS” at them in the manner of a third class teacher for it to have any real effect.

Ratajkowski’s mother is Irish and the model spent much of her childhood in Cork, and regularly returns to visit.

She was also the face of the Penney’s launch in the US, saying ”obviously it’s cool that this brand I knew in Dublin is opening a store here, that’s really exciting to me”.

Penneys had a very glam launch party in New York last night

Tubridy made the Blurred Lines model watch the song as Gaeilge and it was deeply awkward
