I remember the day he died and where I was. Scary to think that was 35 years ago.

We were in the car going somewhere the day Elvis died and I remember my dad fighting back a tear. I was 10 years old and it made a big impression on me. I guess he was the one of the first victims of the commercialization of music. RIP.

I didn’t see anyone on this blog suggest he was the greatest songwriter, just the greatest performer …long live his memory and the enjoyment fans get from his brilliant performances.

Legend.

you can only invent it once. long may people try to emmulate him but he was the no 1 duude. the king is alive!

Just visited Graceland two weeks ago … Amazing! Long live the King! We are still “shook up!”

I don’t remember the day that he died, but for an unusual reason. Before he died, I read in the paper that he had given a press conference to try and allay fears regarding his health. During the following week, or two, I wondered why I had heard no updates and asked my dad did he know anything else. It was then I found out that he was dead, almost two weeks after his passing. I should at this time, point out that I was a big Elvis fan at the time. It turned out that my parents and brothers, decided to try and shield me from the news of his death because they knew how much of a fan I was. Anytime the news came on, they distracted me. The newspapers were also hidden. When I did find out, I have to say that it came as one of the biggest shocks of my then young life.

He will always be the greatest no matter what silly small minded people like Andrew up the page say 75000 people walked to his grave last night I’m his memory 35 years after his death I have been in Graceland twice and have seen grown men cry at his grave no artist before or after elvis will ever be more popular.graceland is the second most visited house in America after the white house.long live the king Tcb
