JUST TWO MONTHS ago Dublin Zoo welcomed two, endangered white crowned mangabeys.
The half brother and sister, fathered by the dominant male Danzo, were born just two weeks apart to mothers Monifa and Malull.
On the 5 April, Malull gave birth to a little boy named Jomoro, and 10 days later Monifa gave birth to a girl, who was named Awiane.
Zoo-keepers say the brother and sister are “thriving” and actually “get on very well as brother and sister” – take note you guys.
The two youngsters will stay close to their mothers for about two years until they become more independent and start exploring the habitat on their own.
Dublin Zoo is one of 12 zoos in Europe participating in a breeding programme of white crowned mangabeys, as they are endangered in the wild and their numbers are rapidly declining.
