Wait, that's the other team! Papers print wrong Olympic photo

Somebody will be apologising fulsomely this morning.

IT’S LATE, YOU’RE tired, and you’re showing off the overworked photo editor of a British newspaper, dealing with a deluge of Olympic medallists.

So you could probably be excused for  letting just one little photo of the wrong country’s team slip in, right?

Well, let’s hope so. The front page of today’s Daily Express celebrates the GB medal haul reaching 22 with photos of the medallists in cycling, triathlon and dressage. (That’s horse dancing to you and me.)

Only thing is, the British dressage team didn’t make the front page, because a photo of the Dutch team appeared instead:

You can take a closer look at the picture here.

And what’s more, the Mirror appears to have made the same mistake. Not on the front, admittedly – but they went pretty big on this centre spread tweeted by Paddy Power.

To prevent similar mistakes happening in future, we here at the Daily Edge would like to offer a short guide to avoid confusion:

  1. The British team have the gold medals
  2. The Dutch team have tell-tale orange collars on their fancy jackets
  3. The British team are the ones holding up a giant Union Jack:
