THE DAILY MAIL covered the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala today with lots and lots of photographs of A-listers having a ball at a gala.
One of the photos featured Bono and the Edge as well as actors Naomie Harris and Idris Elba, and a woman named Mary Bono.
Whoever was in charge of writing the identifying the people in the photograph clearly put two and two together and came up with five, as they assumed that Mary Bono, was in fact, Bono’s wife.
The caption in the piece has been corrected now. The woman in question is actually the wife of the late Sonny Bono.
We all make mistakes, but there is something really delightful about the idea of someone in an office somewhere saying, ‘Ah, Mary Bono, Mrs. Bono, of course’.
