Open thread: What's your cleverest money saving tip?

We want to know.

THERE ARE LOTS of little ways to be smart with your money.

And they don’t necessarily mean a big overhaul or changing your lifestyle. Some things are easy, and pay dividends. The dream, right?

1. Clear your cache

If you’re booking flights, clear your browsing history. Flight prices go up based on how often you look at them, so you could see an increase if you continuously monitor one destination. (We could make a “cache/cash” gag here, but let’s just leave it, eh?)

2. Curb unconscious spending

Everyone knows about “the latte effect” – small, daily expenses that add up to a hefty chunk of change. Maybe your unconscious purchase isn’t a latte, but something else you could easily cut out and not really miss. Mindfulness is the key. Plus, leave your debit card at home on a Saturday night – you’ll thank yourself on Sunday morning!

3. Clear out your wardrobe

This has the dual benefit of both freeing up cash AND space in your house. One brilliant tip is to turn all the hangers in your wardrobe backwards. Anything that hasn’t been touched in a 6 month period should be put into the “to sell” pile.
