ONE WOULD NOT expect that of all the experiences a person can dream of, going down with the Titanic would be on the top of the list.
However, this is exactly the experience that will be on offer to visitors of a new Chinese museum dedicated to the ill-fated ship.
The museum will take the shape of a £101 million replica Titanic which visitors can board. During their time on the ship, it will ‘hit an iceberg’.
Su Shaojun, chief executive of the Seven Star Energy Investment Group, who are funding the project, described the experience for The Telegraph:
When the ship hits the iceberg, it will shake, it will tumble. We will let people experience water coming in by using sound and light effects … They will think, ‘The water will drown me, I must escape with my life’.
Construction of the replica is due to begin soon, with the museum launching in 2016.
