Did I not see Hurricane Charlie referenced by the Journal at some stage? If not, apologies. It was all over RTE.ie news and in the Indo send I’m fairly sure I read the same on this site.

To explain my annoyance, a lot of people in this country seek guidance on weather conditions as it will directly effect our day. To announce hurricane like conditions without a shred of back up from the western services is a serious lack of skilled journalism. Hope I’m not trolling here!!

To be fair the storm was over hyped, but on the flip side had the storm been as bad as they expected it to be (which they had every reason to believe going by the radar images crossing over our wee island) then everyone would be complaining that there was not enough four warning and all the damage to homes and business could of been minimised….like some other rain storms in the past which were played down and were very dangerous, so which is it worse to be over prepared or underprepared?

I toatally agree with Aoife. its a lose-lose situation. It was bad enough in Cork, trees over, localised flooding.

I looked at The “AccuWeather” app on my iPhone and it was giving bad weather but not a hurricane. I’d say you’re right on the whole plagiarizing thing.
