Bono is Irish? I thought he was a “citizen of the world”

Bono was on stage an started clapping his hands and said ..every time he clapped his hands a person died in Africa ..a fella from the audience roared up..then stop clapping your f$&@ing hands for Jesus sake!!

Fair play to him. People are very quick to criticise him but he’s out there doing his thing for poverty, peace, aids etc.. I’d say the majority of people who say he’s doing it for his own ego etc are the types that if they had his money theyd be on holidays lying on a yacht and doing F all about poverty etc

If people spent more time bashing the bishop instead of Bono they wouldnt even know articles like this existed to get annoyed over.

If Bono stopped evading taxes and started paying them to the Irish state, I would’ve bought his concert ticket. Profligate tax cheats are a drag on the economy.

Bono should go to Bearsville and bring peace to the bears.

Or at least a snack.

That was the scheme he was involved with where people spent hundreds on designer goods (made in sweatshops, natch!) and a tiny percentage of the price went to an Advocacy group… not a charity, and advocacy group – in other words it paid for some executive to schmooze the head of a luxury goods group over an expensive lunch to support them to pay for more executive lunches. One is just another advocacy group. All mouth, no trousers. They should just call it EGO and be done with.

And before St Bonio’s cohort get on their high horses, for over 20 years, a portion of my salary (after tax) has been mandated to charity. It probably works out at a higher percentage of my income than the poison dwarf ‘s contributions.
