STREET’S LIKE A jungle, so call the police…

Back in 1994, the world was beginning to be gripped by Britpop, and indie kids were starting their first of many arguments over whether Blur or Oasis were better.

Blur tended (and still tend) to be favoured by arty types, and the band members gave off an air of being just a tad more sensitive than lairy Oasis.

Girls & Boys was most definitely Blur’s breakthrough hit, and was released at the end of March 1994. It stuck around in the Irish charts for two weeks and only reached number 23, but it still remains one of the defining songs of the 1990s.
