In pictures: a rainy Bloomsday across Ireland

A number of politicians – including the President of Ireland – have got into the spirit of things today.

DESPITE THE RAIN, Bloomsday celebrations have been in full flight across the country today with many of Ireland’s TDs and councillors joining the fun.

TheJournal.ie has been keeping track of what’s going on, as well as finding out how many people out there have actually read Ulysses (be honest now).

Emer McLysaght has also collected seven facts about James Joyce that you may not have known.
