Some of the best and worst teachers ever

Oh captain my captain.

A TEACHER IN Israel is a strong contender for the ‘worst teacher’ category after accidentally leaking a document that contained some serious insults about students.

Gawker reports that the spreadsheet, which was sent to students at Yitzhak Rabin High School in Kfar Saba, described some pupils as “not too bright” “a sicko” and a “big baby”.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the country’s Ministry of Education has begun an investigation into the matter.

We’ve probably all done things that have made our teachers want to start a burn book about us, but for the love of Mrs Krabappel, don’t let the students know about it!

Here are some more of the worst – and best – teachers around…

  • Mrs. Johansen truly appeals to my sense of humour.

  • Liz McDonald’s story reminds me of the stink bomb we let off in geography class. When we wouldn’t admit who did it, instead of going straight to the headmistress, she closed all the windows and made us stay in the room for the rest of the class, about forty minutes.

  • I remember in senior infants many moons ago I brought in a huge seashell to show it to my teacher mrs mcdonald…so off I toddled up to her during break time. She must have been having a bad day because she snapped it off me and threw it into her desk drawer. Never to see daylight again. She refused to give it back to me. That was 30 years ago and I will never forget it. Never forgave her for it either. I loved that seashell :’(

  • My favourite phrase was from my geography teacher in secondary school. He was a legend. He used to threaten to hang people out of the ceiling by the toe nails. Even though it was impossible there was a tiny bit of me that believed if pushed, he could do it.

  • My favourite teacher was my secondary school English teacher. He was insistent that we thought for ourselves, a difficult concept for some of my classmates who didn’t appreciate him that much, but this guy put in so much extra work as a teacher (we had a large ring binder worth of extra notes that he made up for us each) he was extremely thorough and made a few of the girls nervous with his outright honesty.

The guy was a legend though. I’m really glad that I got to be in his class.

  • I remember my first day in school. My Nan brought me and I wouldn’t let go of her hand so my teacher Mrs Brennan said I only had to come in for a few minutes. So I said goodbye to Nan and then I got scared after a few mins because I knew the teacher lied that I only had to come in for a few minutes. I thought Mrs Brennan was the worst person in the world but now I think she is the best school teachers because she taught me loads, but my Nan has taught me the most important things in life so I think my Nan is the best teacher and person in the whole world.

Worst was the teacher who threw dusters at us. Hit one guy in the eyebrow, an ambulance had to be called. Funny enough, we didn’t have her after that…my best teacher was my leaving cert French one. She worked really hard to make sure I’d pass the course, and did everything that she could, I had a ton of extra stuff. Thanks to her I’m in college now.
