Beckham 'to sue' over three-in-a-bed hooker claims

The LA Galaxy midfield takes legal action over a magazine that published a prostitute’s claims he paid for her.

DAVID BECKHAM has rubbished claims that he slept with a $10,000-a-night prostitute as a “set-up” – and has hired some of the world’s top libel lawyers to fight the claims in court.

InTouch magazine published a story earlier this week in which Irma Nici, 26, said she had been paid to have unprotected sex with Beckham at New York’s La Meridien hotel in 2007 – when he made his MLS debut for the LA Galaxy at an away game to the New York Red Bulls.

Nici claimed that they had also been joined by another prostitute, and that Beckham had paid $2,300 (€1,726) to watch the two have sex before paying another $5,000 (€3,753) to have Nici stay the night.

Nici also claimed to have met the player for sex a month later in London.

In a statement, Beckham ridiculed the claims as…

completely untrue and totally ridiculous, as the magazine was clearly told before publication.

Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it.

The Sun reports that a friend of Beckham – married to former Spice Girl, Victoria, with whom he has three sons – wrote off the rumours as “an absolute stitch-up job. David has been set up and we believe it may be a malicious attempt to discredit him.

“If this magazine and this woman think they can get away with smearing David, then they’ve got another thing coming. They have created a complete falsehood using a handful of facts in an attempt to give the claims a semblance of truth.

“He was in New York at the time this woman suggests but any Tom, Dick or Harry could find that out on the internet.”

The friend also said Beckham had not even been staying at Le Meridien, but at the Walforf Astoria.

Nici has since set up a website where she charges users to download pictures of her, using the Beckham story as a claim to fame, though it appears to have gone down at the time of writing.

The Beckhams have since been going about their daily businesses as if to shrug off the reports; David attended training as he recovers from a rupture to his Achilles tendon, while Victoria went to the local gym.
