There is a town land called Muff outside Kingscourt in Cavan . Every year they have a horse fair on the 17th of August, it is one of the longest running fair in the world.

Most of these names are what a British soldier wrote down when he heard a local say a meaningful name in Irish.
So you can laugh at your own conquest and replacement of Gaelic names with something that made
sense to your English conquerors if you wish.
