BANKSY HAS POSTED a video online of Disney’s cartoon elephant Dumbo being shot down from the sky in a “rebel rocket attack”.
The artist placed the video on his website as part of his “residency” on the streets of New York, where he says he’s hosting a month-long show.
He posted the video along with the message:
I’m not posting any pictures today. Not after this shocking footage has emerged…
The Gothamist suggests that Banksy may be leaving a clue about the DUMBO neighbourhood of New York (Down Under The Manhattan Bridge Overpass) and perhaps giving clues about the whereabouts of his new piece.
The artist has already peppered the city with a variety of pieces, along with a mobile phone number that people can ring to listen to an audio guide.
