7 reasons why you're still thinking about Ballyturk

It’s not just you.

ENDA WALSH’S ACCLAIMED new Irish play Ballyturk opens at the National Theatre in London this evening, after runs in Galway, Cork and Dublin at the end of the summer.

Starring Cillian Murphy, Mikel Murfi and Stephen Rea the play has been described as a “madcap soap opera” that propels us “into the unknown” by The Irish Times. The Guardian called it “Under Milk Wood interpreted by Buster Keaton” and the National Theatre is selling it as “gut-wrenchingly funny, achingly sad”.

Tickets were flying out like hot snots when Ballyturk had its Irish run, and everyone who managed to get their paws on one emerged feeling certain that it would stay with them for a long, long time.

1. It’s confusing

2. It’s really confusing

3. Like, David Lynch confusing

4. These people who were interviewed straight after seeing it in Galway are probably still thinking about it
